GERMAN RENAISSANCE MUSIC IN WHITE PLAINS

 

White Plains: Wednesday, May 1, at 12:10.  Downtown Music at Grace will present Nevertheless, She Persisted:

The first in a three-part series of music created and performed by German women at different times and in in different places.

 

The twelve professional voices of the Downtown Music Chorale will offer works of Hildegard of Bingen, Countess Amalia Katharina of Waldeck, Anna Amalia the Abbess of Quedlinburg, and Duchess Maria Antonia of Bavaria alongside music of their better-known male contemporaries.  Timothy Lewis, Artistic Director of Downtown Music, will conduct.

 

The program is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Rudyard and Emanuella Reimss Fund of the Westchester Community Foundation.  Admission is Free. No Tickets required.

Downtown Music, voted Best Live Concert Venue by Westchester Magazine, has offered Westchester residents a rich array of concerts performed by professional musicians for 36 years.  Downtown Music concerts take place at Grace Episcopal Church, located at the intersection of Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains.  Parking is available at either the Church Street or City Center garage.
