WPCNR  PLANNING PROGRESS. By John F. Bailey. October 27, 2026:

Eileen McCarthy, of the White Plains Planning Department, Secretary to the Planning Board confirmed to WPCNR that the Planning Board has approved the FEIS (Final Environmental Impact Statement) prepared by the Farrell Building Company on its Farrell Estates  proposed for the former Ridgeway Country Club,  answering concerns raised in the Planning Board Scoping Document.

The vote by the Planning Board was taken October 20 by a unanimous vote.

The public has 10 days from the October 20 date to make written comments on the Final Environmental Impact Statement. The comments are due October 30 (Friday).

Ms. McCarthy stressed the Planning Board has jurisdiction on subdivisions.  It would be the body on either approving the project or declining it.

Next in the progress, she said, would be the Planning Board preparing a Final Environmental Findings Resolution which would she pointed out possibly include conditions that would have to be met as the project moves forward.

After the Board prepares on the Final Environmental Findings Resolution,  McCarthy said  a public hearing or hearings would be scheduled for public comment.

The Final Environmental Impact Statement approved last week may be read on the city website under Planning Board agenda for October 20. The complete Final Environmental Impact Statement is located completely under  the agenda so be sure to scroll down.
