WPCNR BULLETIN 3:00 AM (UPDATED 7:30 AM,UPDATED 8:22 AM, 10:28 AM)

DONALD TRUMP, BUSINESSMAN,  HAS WON THE PRESIDENCY DEFEATING  HILLARY CLINTON IN THE MOST STUNNING PRESIDENTIAL VICTORY SINCE HAROLD TRUMAN DEFEATED THOMAS DEWEY IN 1948.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ALSO INCREASED ITS MAJORITY IN THE SENATE TO UNOFFICIALLY 51-47 AND THE HOUSE,236-191

WITH WISCONSIN FALLING TO THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN FOLLOWED BY ARIZONA GOING INTO THE  TRUMP COLUMN, PUTTING MR. TRUMP OVER THE 270 ELECTORAL VOTES NEEDED FOR THE PRESIDENCY, HIS FINAL ELECTORAL VOTE TOTALLY UNOFFICIALLY STOOD AT 274 AS OF THIS MORNING, COMPARED TO MRS. CLINTON’S 218.

TRUMP  TOOK MAJOR TRADITIONALLY DEMOCRATIC STATES BY VERY CLOSE MARGINS:FLORIDA, MICHIGAN, WISCONSIN, NORTH CAROLINA AND PENNYSYLVANIA.  THE INDICATION THAT THIS WAS NOT MRS. CLINTON’S NIGHT WAS BROUGHT HOME WHEN OHIO AND FLORIDA WERE WON BY TRUMP SHORTLY BEFORE 11 P.M.

CNN’S JOHN KING IN ANALYZING THE VERY CLOSE CONTESTS IN MICHIGAN, WISCONSIN AND PENNSYLVANIA, SHOWED THAT THE CLINTON CAMP HOPES OF TAKING THOSE THREE STATES WITH HEAVY CLINTON VOTES FROM DETROIT, PHILADELPHIA AND MILWAUKEE WOULD NOT BE ENOUGH TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE. KING DID THIS WELL IN ADVANCE AND SHOWED YOU THE NUMBERS.

SECRETARY CLINTON  CONCEDED TO MR TRUMP IN A TELEPHONE CALL AT 2:40 AM., (AFTER IT BECAME CLEAR THAT PENNSYLVANIA, MICHIGAN AND WISCONSIN FELL TO TRUMP), SAYING IT WAS “CLEAR SHE WAS NOT GOING TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.”

SHORTLY THEREAFTER, MR. TRUMP TOOK THE MICROPHONE AT HIS ELECTION NIGHT HEADQUARTERS, AND CONGRATULATED MRS. CLINTON ON HER “HARD-FOUGHT” RACE AND HER “LONG YEARS OF SERVICE” AND THAT THE NATION “OWES HER A GREAT DEAL OF DEBT.”

TRUMP SAID IN HIS  SPEECH,  ACKNOWLEDGING THE CONCESSION PHONE CALL, THAT “AMERICA WOULD SEEK PEACE NOT HOSTILITY.”

“I want to tell the world community that while we will always put America’s interests first, we will deal fairly with everyone, with everyone. All people and all other nations.

We will seek common ground, not hostility; partnership, not conflict.”

HE SAID IT WAS HIS JOB TO BRING THE COUNTRY TOGETHER AND HE WOULD SUCCEED AND BE THE PRESIDENT FOR  ALL AMERICA.

HE INTRODUCED GOVERNOR CHRIS CHRISTIE OF NEW JERSEY, SENATOR JEFF SESSIONS, FORMER NY MAYOR RUDY GUILIANI  FOR THEIR SUPPORT IN HIS CAMPAIGN. AND FINISHED, PLEDGING HE WOULD DO THE JOB FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE THAT HE PROMISED. “WE’RE  GOING TO GET TO WORK IMMEDIATELY.”

LISTENING TO POST ELECTION COMMENTARY THIS MORNING, IT APPEARS THAT AGREEMENT AMONG THOSE SPEAKING ABOUT THE FUTURE INDICATES THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION WOULD LOWER THE CORPORATE TAX RATE FIRST AND BEEF UP AMERICA’S DEFENSE, NOMINATE A JUDGE FOR THE SCALIA VACANCY ON THE SUPREME COURT, THEN DISMANTLE OBAMA CARE.

IN LOCAL ELECTIONS, STATE SENATOR GEORGE LATIMER WON A SECOND TERM, DEFEATING JULIE KILLIAN OF RYE, AND SENATOR CHARLES SCHUMER WAS REELECTED TO THE NATION’S SENATE, DEFEATING WENDY LONG. SENATOR SCHUMER BECOMES THE SENATE MINORITY LEADER.

DAVID BUCHWALD RETURNS TO THE NEW YORK STATE ASSEMBLY(HE WAS UNOPPOSED). ANDREA STEWART-COUSINS RETURNS TO THE NEW YORK STATE SENATE. SHE, TOO, WAS UNOPPOSED.

Locally, State Senator Latimer  of the 37th NY State Senate District, said on his Facebook page made this statement:

“My thanks to absolutely everyone who made my successful election possible. I could not have done it without you.

Regards to my opponent; it was a tough, spirited battle. I maintain respect for her and all who seek to serve.

Let us get ready for the challenges ahead. They are many and varied”
