WPCNR CITY HALL CIRCUIT. Special to WPCNR. October 31, 2016:

A Special Meeting was announced this afternoon to those subscribed to the Agenda list published by city hall.

The meeting scheduled for 6 PM Tuesday evening at City Hall in the Mayor’s Conference Room and will take up a matter involving the French American School of New York Special Permit. Speculation is the council may consider determining the new site plan proposed by FASNY is not an environmentally sensitive, which would eliminate the requirement for a super majority vote. That is purely rumor and speculation at this point by those opposed to the project.

Another possibility is that they may simply be determining what material the Common Council feels must be supplied by FASNY for consideration of the Special Permit. It has not been announced yet whether or not the city has turned over the list of documents and studies and questions the city wants FASNY to turn over. WPCNR has asked FASNY press contacts whether the city has turned over the list yet.

Also up for discussion is improvements to the Renaissance Plaza Fountain and an Indoor firearms range for the Department of Public Safety.
