(Edited) June 2, 2005-Newly Nauted pitcher Jodieぐ颵ᇏ芻ꨀ봀SCROLL> Cox had the game winning hit and came on in relief to earn her first win for the NY Juggernaut in the Nauts’ Opening Night Game in the second season of the National Pro Fastpitch league at Hofstra Softball Stadium, 4-3 in eight innings. The Nauts are 1-0.

After going into extra innings, Cox shut the door in the circle and provided an RBI single to score Pasquerella from second to end the game. Pasquerella started off the inning with a single and moved to second on a grounder to shortshop by Natasha Watley. Leto was then hit by a pitch to put a runner on first. The V’s added to their lead in the 3rd inning when the first batter singled, the second was hit by a pitch, and a crucial Juggernaut error scored the runner from second base. With a runner on second and third, Sigurdson was able to get Cremelle to hit into a fielder’s choice to catcher Ryan Realmuto at the plate for a tag out of Maribel Riera. Sigurdson got a groundout to third to end the inning.
The Juggernaut tied the score, 3-3 in the 6th inning. Three singles, by Trena Peel, Jodie Cox and Katonah’s Alicia Smith, loaded the bases. Pinch hitter Laura Taylor singled through the left side to put the first run on the board for the Juggernaut, but pinch runner Alison Higgs was tagged out at third base on the play. One out.
With one out and runners at first and second, Ogee walked to load the bases again. Ryan Realmuto cut the lead to 3-2 with an RBI single of her own. The Juggernaut tied the game on a
The Juggernaut threatened again in the bottom of the 7th inning. Cox tallied her second hit of the day with a double to left field with one out. After an intentional walk of Smith, James walked to load the bases. But the Juggernaut stranded all three runners, as they were unable to score.
In 6 1/3 innings pitched, started Auburn Sigurdson struck out five while allowing 3 runs. Cox pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief to earn the win for the Juggernaut.
The Juggernaut offense totaled 11 hits on the day. Jodie Cox had three hits and Trena Peel and Jackie Pasquerella each notched two hits to lead the club.

Nauts Fastpitch Ambassadorettes at Derek Jeter’s Queens Clinic Saturday.
Juggernauts Jodie Cox, Heather Scaglione and Alicia Smith three athletes will be appearing and assisting at Derek Jeter’s Queens clinic for the Turn 2 Foundation on a softball segment at the clinic. The clinic will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 on Saturday, June 4th at Victory Field in Queens. The athletes will host a station and perform a defensive and pitching demonstration for those attending.
