DAVE WINFIELD, BASEBALL HALL OF FAMER, TO DISCUSS HIS NEW BOOK
IN A VIRTUAL PRESENTATION HOSTED BY GRANDPAS UNITED AND THE
WHITE PLAINS YOUTH BUREAU
WHITE PLAINS, NY — Thursday, October 22, 2026:
Baseball Hall of Famer Dave Winfield will participate in a special virtual presentation on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., featuring his new book, Touching All the Bases: A Story of Power, Purpose and Surviving the Bronx.
The event is sponsored by Grandpas United and the White Plains Youth Bureau and will offer participants an opportunity to hear from one of baseball’s most accomplished athletes as he shares insights from his life, career, and personal journey.
Winfield, a former Major League Baseball superstar and member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, has enjoyed an extraordinary career both on and off the field. His story reflects perseverance, determination, and the importance of purpose in achieving success. Through his new book, Winfield offers a personal perspective on the experiences that shaped his life and helped him navigate the challenges of growing up and pursuing his dreams.
This event supports the mission of Grandpas United and the White Plains Youth Bureau to encourage young people to pursue their goals, develop positive relationships, and recognize the value of mentorship, resilience, and lifelong learning. The event also provides an opportunity for participants of different generations to learn from Winfield’s experiences and accomplishments.
“Stories like Dave Winfield’s remind us that success is about more than talent. It is also about making positive choices and having the determination to overcome obstacles,” said Frank Williams, Jr., Executive Director of the White Plains Youth Bureau and a leader of Grandpas United. “We are pleased to provide this opportunity for our community, grandfathers, and family members to learn from his remarkable journey.”
Grandpas United brings grandfathers together to mentor, encourage, and support young people in their communities. In partnership with the White Plains Youth Bureau, the initiative promotes intergenerational relationships, positive youth development, and opportunities for young people to learn from the wisdom and experiences of others.
