Residents can sign up for the service by going to the county's website homepage at westchestergov.com or by sending a blank e-mail to: westchestergovnews-join@list.westchestergov.com. The Westchester Quick News Bulletins, according to the Westchester County Office of Communications, will be issued once a week. They will highlight new information on the county's website of importance to residents. The county website at westchestergov.com is updated daily with county news releases and contains extensive information on County services. According to the Office of Communications, "Westchester Quick News" will be limited to the most significant new information relating to county governement appearing on the website each week to alert residents to information they should know about. "This is another example of how technology can bring government closer to the community, and it's a good way to get the word out on important issues," County Executive Spano stated.
