Concerned Citizens for Open Space protests Presbyterian Hospital/Common Council Secret Meeting on Tuesday. CCOS attorney files letter deploring "Executive Session."

By John F. Bailey

CityLine: February 12, 2001: The Newsroom

WPCNR has learned that Concerned Citizens for Open Space has through its attorney, Thomas Whyatt, sent the Mayor's Office a letter protesting the scheduled Common Council Executive Session Tuesday evening where the Common Council will meet with representatives of New York Presbyterian Hospital to discuss possible settlement of the hospital Plan B suit agains the city.

The letter, our sources say, protests that the meeting is being held in "Executive Session," barring the public from hearing the hospital suggestions for a settlement.

George Gretsas, Executive Officer for the Mayor's Office, reached Sunday evening said that he did not see how you could possibly not hold the meeting in executive session because ways of ending the hospital lawsuit were going to be discussed. The New York Presbyterian Hospital called for the session on the condition that it be held in "executive session."
